Tether Buys $750M Worth of Bitcoin in Q1 2025
With the increased prominence of the cryptocurrency asset class this year, more and more companies are looking to increase exposure to digital assets. Now, stablecoin issuer Tether has joined them, with the company buying $750 million worth of Bitcoin in Q1 of 2025. The USDT issuer joins the likes of Michael Saylor’s Strategy and Metaplanet as companies that have adopted a BTC acquisition strategy in recent years. Indeed, Tether purchased 8,888 BTC in a transaction recorded Tuesday. Moreover, it brings its total holdings to a value of more than $7.8 billion.
